Your mother walks into the room and asks you what you think of her new dress. You think she doesn't look good in red, but smile and say she looks very attractive. compliment her, and mention the dinner party she's been invited to, in order to spark more conversation. note that the dress is the latest style, and compliment her on her stylishness. stare at her blankly because having opinions about dresses makes no sense to you.
You volunteer to work on your Representative's re-election campaign, and you are asked to fold leaflets. You chat with your fellow campaign workers to pass the time. become bored after a few minutes, and ask if you could work the telephones instead. watch the office dynamics as you work, and determine who are the important people to know. find it enjoyable, and wish that the office was quieter so that you could focus completely on your task.
Someone mentions your favorite hobby, astronomy. You reply that astronomy is a hobby of yours, and ask others about their hobbies. politely invite others to join you at next month's star party, knowing they won't be able to attend. launch into a long monologue about the specifications of materials used in grinding telescope lenses. ask about the speaker's interest, and learn you have a mutual friend who works at the local planetarium.
You decide to make the holidays special for yourself this year. You plan a festive family get together, and invite all of your relatives. spend the holidays overseas, visiting countries you had always wanted to visit. rent a ski chalet and spend a romantic week with your partner. reject all party invitations and spend a week alone playing video games.
A group of children have ganged up on another child and are bullying him. You join in - the kid brought it upon himself. break it up, then scold the child for bringing it upon himself. walk past quickly and wonder why no one is doing anything to stop it. are the child being bullied.
When you are rocking, you have your stereo cranked up loud. hope the baby will go to sleep quickly. often "space out" as well. admire the skill that it took to make such a fine piece of furniture.
